International Desk (Channel TT): A moderate magnitude earthquake has shaken the northeastern Indian state of Manipur and its environs.
It was felt at 8:16 pm local time on Monday, 15 kilometers west of the state's Marirang town. Its level was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
According to the Meteorological Department of India, the epicenter of the quake was 26.5 km below the surface.
The quake shook the northeastern part of the country, including Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. However, no immediate damage was reported in Manipur or anywhere in Bangladesh.
