News Desk (Channel TT): About 300 workers trapped in Kuwait due to the outbreak of global epidemic Covid-19 have returned to Bangladesh.
Two special flights landed with them at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday evening, the Private Aviation Authority (CAA) said.
Mohammad Sohail Kamuruzzaman, public relations officer of Bebichak, said that 119 people came to Dhaka on Jazira Air at 7.20 pm and 180 people on Kuwait Air at 7.50 pm.
On April 1, the Kuwaiti government announced a general amnesty for deporting illegal immigrants due to the coronavirus outbreak. About 4,500 Bangladeshi workers who have become illegal due to various reasons are taking this opportunity. They are returning to the country.
